

The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) chapter was founded at The University of Texas at Austin in the Spring of 2004. Since its inception, the ALPFA chapter has strived to enrich students through events and workshops essential for their professional development as future Latino leaders.
Although the organization is open to all majors, student chapter members are mainly Accounting and Finance majors, with a high concentration of members in the Master in Professional Accounting (MPA) program . The average GPA is 3.30.

ALPFA at The University of Texas at Austin provides a national network of diverse professionals in finance and accounting to enhance professional development while cultivating strong academics and community service.

In 2005 & 2006, five student members participated in the KPMG Case Competition and advanced to the national finals at the ALPFA National Convention. In 2005, Austin team placed second nationally.
